love is kind
and envies no one."
welcome
Welcome to the website for St. Cuthbert’s Parish Church Amble. We hope you will enjoy visiting the site and that it will inspire you to come and visit us in person.
The North East is a friendly and welcoming region, and you will find our congregation to be no exception. Amble is a small coastal town of about 6,500 inhabitants. It has a strong community feel and a background in fishing and mining. The deep mines are all gone, but a small fishing fleet remains and Amble is finding a new way forward as a centre for tourists on the north Northumberland coast. In the summer we welcome many visitors to the town, in holiday cottages and at the caravan park. Amble is a good place to live, and our church aims to play a full part in the life of our community. Details of our service times and our weekly newsletter can be found here.
St. Cuthbert’s is the Parish Church, which means that we are part of the Church of England. The Church of England is divided into administrative areas called Dioceses and we are part of the Diocese of Newcastle. If you visit the Diocesan website it will give you a lot of information about how the church works locally.
